Barbara (Bobbie) Diane Hays Adam, age 88, passed away peacefully surrounded by her children on March 24, 2025, in her residence at Morningside in the West End Assisted Living. Bobbie was born on March 25,1936, and a lifelong resident of Richmond, Virginia. As a child she lived in Barton Heights, attended St. Paul's Catholic School and St. Paul's Catholic Church. In 1948, Bobbie and her parents moved to Lakeside. Bobbie graduated from her beloved Hermitage High School in 1954, where she earned the nickname "Gabby", because she talked a lot. Bobbie attended and was a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church. In college, Bobbie attended Richmond Professional Institute (RPI), now VCU, where she studied commercial art. As an only child, she always wanted a large family. Bobbie raised five children that she was very proud of. Bobbie volunteered over 20 years of her time with the Virginia Indian Tribes and other Native organizations. Bobbie had a love of her family, history, antiques, animals and the water.

Bobbie is preceded in death by her parents, Frank K Hays and Marguerite Wilhelmina Jonoscha Hays; and her former husband, Kenneth Richard Adam. Bobbie loved the Lord, her children, grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren. She is survived by her children, Diane Adam Korman (William), Karen Adam James (David), Anita Adam, Anne Adam Shields (Brent), and Kenneth Adam; and her grandchildren, Sarah Korman Boutwell (Casey), Anna Korman Edmunds (Chris), Rebecca Korman Dowell (Skyler), and Mary Korman Lee (Andrew); and her great-grandchildren, Natalie Boutwell, Reid Boutwell, Emilia Boutwell, Charles Edmunds, William Edmunds, Jacob Edmunds, Miles Dowell, Leah Dowell, and Amelia Lee.

The family would like to thank, Dr. Hendrix for his years of medical care, and the staff at Grove Avenue Primary Care, for their love and support; Retreat Hospital Wound Care, for their love and care; Morningside in the West End Assisted Living, for their love and care; and Traditions Hospice for their care and support.

The family will receive friends from 4 to 7 p.m., on Monday, March 31, 2025, at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, 8200 Woodman Road, Henrico, Virginia 23228. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m., on Tuesday, April 1, 2025, at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, 8200 Woodman Road, Henrico, Virginia. Interment to follow at Forest Lawn Cemetery, 4000 Pilots Lane, Richmond, Virginia 23222.
