Obituary - Barbara Anne Shiflett Alford

Barbara Anne Shiflett Alford, of Henrico, passed away on January 30, 2025 at the age of 74. Barbara was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Mildred Shiflett; and her long time partner, Michael Goodall. Barbara is survived by her son, Charles “Chuck” Masten (Stephanie); her three grandchildren, Alex, Colby and Morgan; her two cats, Tiger and Patches; her sisters, Robin Harrell (Bobby), Marie Clarke, and Audrey Morley (Mike); her nieces and nephews; and several friends at St. Mary’s Woods, most especially Angela and Ziggy.

Barbara was born and raised in Hanover County. She retired from C&P Telephone Company (Verizon) after 30 years. Barbara’s most favorite friends were the numerous dogs and cats that she loved throughout her life.

A graveside service will be held at Signal Hill Memorial Park on February 5, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, please consider donating, to your local animal shelter, rescue, or emergency veterinary hospital.
