Adams, Aubrey Alexander, of Sandston, VA. went to be with the Lord on February 1, 2024. Aubrey was born Jan. 7, 1930 in New Kent, VA and lived there until late teens and moved to Richmond, VA.

He is survived by his wife, Joyce M. Adams to whom he has been married to for 69 years. He is also survived by his children, Marc Alexander Adams (Daniele) and daughter Sherry A. Burkett (Alfred); grandchildren Ryan A. Brown (Elizabeth), Brandi N. Roach (Friend Nathan), and Daniel A. Adams; four great – grandchildren Dakota, Teagan, Connor and Tyler; inherited grandchildren, Hadley, Madison, Katelyn and Angel; brother, Thomas W. Adams; sisters, Shirley Riggleman and Diane Batkins (Bubba).

Predeceased by a brother Elmore Adams and sister Phyllis Hastings and brother in law Jack Hastings; father Larkin A. Adams and mother Hattie Adams. He has a large family of nieces, nephews and cousins.

He attended Richmond Mechanical Institute for 6 years for heating, air conditioning and refrigeration. He owned his own company, A.A.A. Heating & Air Conditioning for many years. After retiring three times he went to work part-time for W.L. Jubb Express Mail for 20 years, retiring at the age of 89. He enjoyed hunting and fishing and turkey shooting, boating and teaching people how to water ski. He loved his church, Antioch Baptist and taught Sunday School to the young boys. He served as a church Trustee, Chairman of the Building Committee, Deacon, served as co-chairman on the Bi-Centennial Committee, member of the church Choir and on many other committees.

Visitation will be held at Nelsen Funeral Home, 4650 S. Laburnum Ave from 4 – 8pm, Wednesday, February 7.

Celebration of his life will be held at Antioch Baptist Church, 3868 Antioch Church Rd, Sandston, VA on Thursday, Feb 8 at 11am

Burial to follow in church cemetery.
