Obituary – Arthur V. Myers, Jr.

Arthur V. Myers, Jr., died peacefully in his sleep on July 7, 2021 at the age of 91. He was the son of Arthur V. Myers, Sr. and Anna Margaret DIffendahl Myers. He was the proud and loving husband of Priscilla Nason Myers, from whom he was widowed in 1992. He was predeceased by his sisters, Billie Lee and Peggy Chase. He is survived by his children, Peter Myers, Mary Conn (Michael) Claire Rossetti (Michael) and Vinton Myers (Lisa). His descendants were his pride and joy, including; seven grandchildren as well as five great grandchildren…and counting. Arthur was a graduate of Mount St. Mary’s College, served proudly and was honorably discharged from the United States Army. He began his career as a public servant with the Federal Reserve System while raising a family and completing his Law degree from the University of Maryland. He was a longstanding parishioner of St. Mary’s Catholic Church. In addition to his love for family and friends, Art Myers was incredibly proud of his service to his country and devotion to public service as a senior executive with the Federal Reserve Bank of Richmond. Those who knew him well, knew Art as “the Mayor”. He always took the time to get to know his neighbors and their dogs. He loved people and took a genuine interest in their lives. In lieu of flowers, please make gifts in the name of Arthur Myers to the Salvation Army, 2 W. Grace St., Richmond, VA 23220 or St. Mary’s Catholic Church. Family and friends are invited to a graveside service in Greenwood Memorial Gardens on Saturday, July 17 at 10 am. A brief reception will follow.
