Ann Galloway Tucker passed away peacefully on August 13, 2021 in Richmond, Va. She was predeceased by her husband of 55 years, Robert Earl Tucker; and her brother, James McInnes Galloway. Ann is survived by her daughter, Stephanie Tucker and her husband, John Scott; son, Stephen Tucker; grandson, Mason Bowman (Maria); great-granddaughter, Cecilia James Bowman; step grandson, Brandon Scott (Luisa); step granddaughter, Gina Marie Culotta (Kiley); great-grandchildren, Nico and Lexiana. Ann retired from HCPS after more than 40 years of service to generations of Henrico County children and families. Her house was a mainstay for Halloween. Many of the kids who knew her from Longan Elementary made a point of stopping by Mrs.Tucker’s house because they knew she had the best treats. At Christmastime, many would drive by her house to see the lighted trees and decorations. As neighbors walk by the house, they would often see her pruning her roses and gardenias, tending her gardens and appreciating nature. Her side-kick, Buddy, would greet every passer-by with a few energetic barks. She loved spending time at the Outer Banks with her family, enjoying the ocean and catching fish. Visitation for family and friends will be on Tuesday, August 17, 2021, from 6 to 8 p.m., at Woody Funeral Home - Parham Chapel, 1771 N. Parham Rd., Richmond, Va. 23229. We ask that you mask. A private interment service will be held at Hollywood Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, consider a contribution in Ann’s name to the American Cancer Society or the Audubon Society
