Allen Parker (A.P.) Hall Jr. passed away peacefully on June 4, 2022.

He was predeceased by his wife of 63 years, Betty Bennington Hall, by approximately 14 hours. A.P. was predeceased by his father, Allen Parker Hall Sr.; mother, Evie Kennon Hall; sister, Katherine (Kitty) Kennon Hamilton; and many beloved aunts, uncles and other family members. He was predeceased by his best friends/brothers, Stuart Owen Davis, James Jeter Anderson Sr. and Cleon (Jack) Ware Hughson.

He is survived by his son, Allen Hall III (Merry Beth); daughter, Julie Hall; granddaughter, Katherine (Katie) Hall; nephew, David Hamilton; and multiple Godchildren and cousins. A.P. is also survived by his best friend/sister, Marjorie M. Anderson.

A.P. graduated from Louisa County High School in 1948 and received his undergraduate degree from Lynchburg College in 1952. Throughout high school and college, he was an active participant in sports and theater. He began his career in Louisa County Public Schools as an educator and coach. He was an Army veteran, serving his country from 1954 - 1956. A.P. received his Masters of Education from the University of Virginia in 1961 and was a proud alumnus all of his life. A.P. retired after serving Henrico County Public Schools for more than 30 years and truly treasured his time as a teacher, coach, principal and Director of Personnel.

A.P. was a dedicated member of the St. Martin’s Episcopal Church community. He served as a chalicer, lay reader, Superintendent of Sunday School, Senior Warden, vestry member and Trustee. He loved to travel with his wife, Betty, particularly to the Outer Banks of North Carolina and Disney World. Above all, A.P. loved to spend time with family and friends. He was a kind hearted and devoted husband, father, grandfather, uncle and Godfather.

The family will receive guests at Bliley’s on Staples Mill Thursday, June 9, 2022 from 2-4pm and 6-8pm. The service will take place on Friday, June 10th, at 11am at St. Martin’s Episcopal Church, 9000 St. Martin’s Lane, Richmond, VA 23294. Family and friends will convene for the burial at Hillcrest Cemetery in Louisa, VA at 2pm.

The family respectfully requests that guests wear masks at the visitations and service.

The family wishes to express gratitude for the kindness and attentive care provided by Dr. Peter Boling, doctors and nurses at VCU, the wonderful staff at Anthology of Midlothian and The Hermitage Richmond. Special thanks to devoted caregivers, Kirby Wallace and Annie (Kitty) Daniels.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to St. Martin’s Episcopal Church.
