It is with profound sorrow and heavy hearts that we announce the untimely passing of Aiden Anthony Schmidt on May 18, 2024, in Virginia. Born on September 28, 2007 in Seaford, Delaware, Aiden’s vibrant spirit and genuine care brought joy, and touched the heart of all who knew him during his sixteen years of life. Aiden was a sophomore at Jr Tucker High School, where he was well-loved.

Aiden leaves behind a loving family: his devoted mother, Allison Schmidt; father, Jerrod Harris Sr.; beloved grandmother, Kathleen Schmidt; and his close-knit siblings, Jaylaa, Rod, Zoey and Austin. He will be profoundly missed by his aunts and uncles, Melissa Johnson, Thomas and Jessica Schmidt, Sierra Somersauskis, and his cherished cousins, Kaitlyn, Kenny, Konnor, Kaleb, Isabella, Adryanna, Orionna, Teresa, Lori, Lisa, Kiera, Sade, Legend, Malia, Bryson, Angelica, Allyssa, Jaxson, Gianna, and Justin.

He also leaves behind his great-aunts and -uncles, Judith and Wesley Austin, Rita Sideris, and his godparents, Dana and Jimmy Farmer and their children, Makenna, Jr., and Owen. Aiden respected and admired many mentors, including Mr. Oyster, Grandpa George, and Carlos Jackson.

Aiden's friendships were deep and cherished, particularly with Joseph Castro, who tragically passed alongside him. His circle of friends also included Spencer, James, and Tone Taggart, Hunter Tyler, Zabi, Dullah, Marley Mancuso, Ashley Castro, Natalie Holmes, Bosma El Manni, Amy Huynh, and many more.

Aiden also worked at Sam's Club, where his fun energy and contagious laughter brightened the days of both customers and coworkers alike, often sharing jokes and laughs with the leadership team. His hard work and vibrant spirit were noticed and respected by all, leaving a lasting impression on many colleagues who became dear friends, including Tasean’a “Tee Tee” Bland, Evelyn Davis, Isabel “Iszy” Zacarias, John Wrancher, and Bobbie Williams, Jr.

A charismatic young man known for his fun-loving spirit, Aiden deeply loved and cared for his siblings, always showing them kindness and support, making every moment together special and full of laughter.

Belle Island was one of Aiden’s favorite places, where he cherished the scenery and vibes, often spending time there to relax and enjoy the outdoors. Aiden was eagerly anticipating trying out for football next year at Jr. Tucker, a goal that reflects his ambitious and vibrant spirit. An avid gym-goer, Aiden enjoyed staying active and loved pizza and tacos. He was a fan of video games like Call of Duty and Fortnite, a fan of Dallas Cowboys, and was talented in freestyling.

Aiden was passionate about cars—especially BMWs—and dreamed of building them from the inside out, wanting to learn everything from mechanics to bodywork. He loved attending car meets, hanging out at the Cookout, and spending quality time downtown with his family and friends.

Please join us in celebrating Aiden’s life at Affinity Funeral Service located at 2720 Enterprise Pkwy, Richmond, VA 23294 on May 26th, 2024 from 12:30pm-3pm. Aiden’s warm presence and genuine love will forever be remembered and cherished by all who knew him.

As we say goodbye to Aiden, we hold tight to the memories of his bright, infectious smile and the joy he brought into our lives.. Your light will forever guide us. Though his time with us was far too brief, the light of his spirit will forever shine in our memories. Rest in peace, dear Aiden. You are missed more than words can express.
