The Virginia DMV’s North Henrico Customer Service Center will close Saturday, April 22, ahead of its move to a new, larger office in Ashland May 1.

The Citizen first reported the pending move Jan. 18.

The current office, located at 9015 Brook Road, will close at the end of the day April 22. The new Ashland office is located at 251 North Washington Highway in the Ashland Hanover Shopping Center.

Customers will be able to conduct more than 50 services online at dmv.virginia.gov, but those who want to conduct business in person can make an appointment or visit any other center, including the two nearby offices located at 9237 Quioccasin Road in Henrico and 2300 West Broad Street in Richmond.

For vehicle transactions, such as registration renewals, titles, license plates, and decals, customers can also visit a partner DMV Select location.

The new Ashland office will be more than 4,000 square feet larger than the old office and will have four additional customer service windows. It also will feature a new countertop design to improve efficiency and customer flow.
