North Carolina man dies in I-295 crash in Henrico

A 41-year-old North Carolina man died Nov. 29 when then 2014 Volvo VNL tractor-trailer he was driving on I-295 southbound crashed in Henrico County near mile marker 20 in Varina at about 11:15 p.m.
The truck was in the center lane when it apparently lost control, overturned and slid off the right side of the road, according to Virginia State Police.
The driver, Douglas J. Irwin, 41, of Cary, N.C., died at the scene. He was wearing a seatbelt.
