Nominations sought for Henrico Heart of Service volunteer awards

The Henrico County Outreach and Engagement Agency is seeking nominations for the inaugural Henrico Heart of Service Awards, which will celebrate outstanding volunteer service in the county.
The awards program will honor residents and others, as well as nonprofit organizations, businesses and other groups whose volunteer and community service benefits the lives of others.
The public is encouraged to submit awards nominations online by 5 p.m. Friday, April 25. One winner will be selected from each of the following categories:
• Youth (ages 12 and under);
• Teen (ages 13-17);
• Adult (ages 18-59);
• Senior (ages 60+);
• Youth group (two or more volunteers under age 18);
• Group (two or more volunteers, no age restrictions);
• Nonprofit organization (community, faith based, etc.);
• Business (for profit).
To be eligible, an individual nominee must be a resident of Henrico. Organizations must be either located in Henrico or provide services that benefit county residents. Nominators must inform nominees of their nomination prior to submission.
Award recipients will be honored at a ceremony scheduled from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. Tuesday, May 6 in the Board Room at the Henrico County Government Center, 4301 East Parham Road.
