Nomination period for RVA Sports Awards opens

The Richmond Region Tourism Foundation is accepting nominations for the fourth annual RVA Sports Awards, which celebrate outstanding athletes and leaders in Metro Richmond. Nominations will be accepted until Dec. 1 and can be submitted by individuals for themselves or others through the nomination portal.
The awards are designed to recognize athletes and coaches from all levels of sports in the region, including youth leagues, high schools, colleges, and professional ranks. Categories include Female Athlete of the Year, Male Athlete of the Year, Team of the Year, Coach of the Year, Referee of the Year, Moment of the Year, Youth Athlete of the Year, Youth Team of the Year, and Event Impact of the Year.
Three finalists for each public voting category will be announced Dec. 15, with public voting commencing through a fan voting poll at WTVR.com.
Winners will be honored at a ceremony at Altria Theater Feb. 8, presented by Rosie’s Gaming Emporium and Colonial Downs. For details or to purchase tickets, click here.
