No new COVID-related deaths reported in Henrico for 5 days

It’s now been five days since Henrico County reported a COVID-19-related death.

The last death was reported July 15, though it’s not known exactly how many of the deaths reported this month occurred in July or were the result of death certificate analyses from prior deaths.

The Virginia Department of Health reported six new virus-related hospitalizations in Henrico this weekend, bringing the county’s total during the pandemic to 285.

The total case count has increased by 73, to 3,058, since Friday. Henrico's 7-day positivity percentage is back up to 5.2% as of July 16, the most recent date on record, after reaching 4.7 July 15, close to the lowest percentage the county has seen thus far.

Nearly 1,500 PCR tests were reported during the weekend, bringing Henrico’s total to 46,450, or about 14 percent of the county’s population.
