The National Federation of Independent Business has named Rep. Rob Wittman (R-VA-01) a “Guardian of Small Business” for his work supporting small businesses in Congress.

The award, presented by NFIB President Brad Close (above, left), was given to Wittman (above, right) for his legislative action and leadership in advocating for small businesses across Virginia and the nation.

“This Congress, small businesses faced tough economic headwinds, especially from inflation, burdensome regulations, and threats of tax hikes at all levels of the government,” Close said. “We are proud to recognize the lawmakers from the 118th Congress, including Representative Rob Wittman, who stood up for Main Street by taking pro-small business votes that would reduce taxes, eliminate burdensome government mandates, lower health insurance costs, and fuel the Main Street economy.”

Wittman has supported legislation to permanently extend tax deductions for small and family-owned businesses, require federal agencies to consider the economic impacts of certain rulemaking on small businesses, and authorize the “Boots to Business Program,” which provides entrepreneurship training to veterans and active duty members of the military.
