A new Virginia Alcoholic Beverage Control Authority store will open Oct. 7 at the Eastgate Town Center in Eastern Henrico.

A grand opening celebration will be held at the store, located at 4991 Nine Mile Road, at 11 a.m., that day.

“Our nearby store in the Laburnum Park Shopping Center is one of the busiest stores in the commonwealth,” said Virginia ABC Chief Executive Officer Travis Hill. “We are committed to providing excellent customer service and strategically chose this new location along Nine Mile Road to better serve eastern Henrico County customers and restaurant licensees.”

The public is invited to attend the ceremony, which will include brief remarks from Hill, a ribbon cutting, light refreshments and informal store tours. The first 25 customers will receive a complimentary gift.

This store will be the 18th ABC store in Henrico. At 4,344 square feet, it's nearly 1,200 square feet larger than the average ABC store. The store’s product selection spans a variety of more than 1,000 items, including 214 vodkas, 144 bourbons, 110 rums, 104 brandies, 89 cordials and 85 tequilas.

The store employs six sales associates and a store manager. It will operate from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday through Saturday and from noon to 7 p.m. on Sunday.

Virginia ABC currently has 384 stores in the state.
