New-look Henrico Board of Supervisors to meet for first time

The Henrico Board of Supervisors will hold its first meeting of the year on Tuesday, Jan. 9 at 6 p.m. in the Board of Supervisors Room at the Henrico Western Government Center, 4305 East Parham Road.

This will be its first meeting with new Supervisors Misty Whitehead representing the Three Chopt District, Jody Rogish representing the Tuckahoe District, and Roscoe D. Cooper, III representing the Fairfield District. Supervisors Dan Schmitt and Tyrone Nelson continue to represent the Brookland and Varina districts, respectively.

This meeting will focus on electing a chair and vice chair as well as appointments for various boards and commissions, including the:

• Henrico Planning Commission
• PlanRVA Commission
• Richmond Regional Transportation Organization Policy Board
• Community Criminal Justice Board
• Henrico Board of Social Services
• Henrico Area Mental Health and Developmental Services Board
• Henrico Housing Advisory Committee
• Henrico Parks and Recreation Advisory Commission

The board will meet on the second and fourth Tuesdays of each month except for July, November and December. In July and November, the board will meet only on the second Tuesday of the month. In December, it will meet on the first and third Tuesday of the month.

New this year, the board will change the longstanding traditional start time of its public meetings from 7 p.m. to 6 p.m., with the exception of April 9, when it will begin at 5 p.m. to accommodate a public hearing about the proposed 2024-25 fiscal year budget.
