For the second consecutive day, Henrico reported 133 new COVID-19 cases Friday, according to Virginia Department of Health data. The county’s average number of new daily cases during the past seven days actually dropped slightly, to 117, reflecting several days of slightly lower case counts earlier this week. Friday was the county's 11th straight day with more than 100 new cases.

For the second straight day, the county also reported one new death and one new hospitalization related to the virus. The most recent fatal cases occurred in people in their seventies and eighties.

Just about 800 county residents received their first dose of COVID-19 vaccine during the past two days, while just more than 800 became fully vaccinated, according to the data. In total, more than 209,500 people (or about 63.3% of the county’s population) has had one dose and about 188,600 (or 57%) are fully vaccinated.

Henrico’s seven-day positivity percentage among PCR testing encounters is 10.6%, just about equal to the state’s average during the same period of time, but its rapid testing encounter positivity percentage of 10.8% is 3% higher than the state’s average.
