COVID-19 cases in Henrico County are following a nationwide downward trend, with 33 new cases reported on Monday, according to the Virginia Department of Health. The seven-day moving average fell to 48 new cases reported daily. There were no virus-related hospitalizations or deaths reported.

During the weekend, Henrico increased its number of outbreaks by one, reaching 208 in total, according to the VDH. Exactly 3,634 outbreak-associated cases have been discovered in the county overall. Henrico ranks third in outbreaks, behind the Fairfax and Richmond City health districts.

People are getting tested less frequently they were at the beginning of the year, but positivity rates remain above 6 percent, according to VDH data. As of April 21, PCR tests in Henrico had a 6.1 percent positivity rate. Antigen rapid tests, as of the same date , yielded a 10.2 percent positivity rate — one of the highest rates since January. Testing data intentionally lags behind a few days to include as much data as possible.

Henrico ranks sixth among Virginia's counties with the most COVID-19 vaccines administered, according to the VDH. Almost 240,000 vaccines have been administered in the county. More than 100,000 Henrico residents have been fully vaccinated, with 148,634 receiving at least one dose so far.

As of April 22, 74,315 vaccine doses are being administered each day in Virginia, according to VDH data. The majority of vaccines offered in Virginia are from Pfizer, with Moderna following close behind. Virginia is rapidly approaching the halfway mark of residents that have received at least one dose of the vaccine. Almost 30 percent of Virginians are fully vaccinated.

Nearly 318,270 federal doses of the COVID-19 vaccine have been administered in Virginia, according to the VDH. These doses are not included in the general Virginia COVID-19 vaccination dashboard. Federal doses go to facilities like the Bureau of Prisons, Department of Defense, Indian Health Service and Veterans Administration.
