New child-friendly coworking space opening in the West End

A new child-friendly coworking space will open soon in Henrico’s West End.

Balance Space, created by co-owners Bunny Young, Amy Miller, and Courtney Buzzell Riley, will host current and prospective members at its free business social networking event Jan. 17 at its new location, 10431 Patterson Avenue.

The three women – all parents and business owners themselves – wanted to create a space where parenting and owning a business could co-exist.

Balance Space will offer memberships that include childcare, making that balance much easier to find, they believe.

“We want to empower working parents to be able to achieve success, both professionally and personally,” Riley said of the new space.

Members of Balance Space will be able to work out of their own private offices, using meeting rooms and podcast rooms, while mingling with other business owners. In addition to childcare, the site location will offer a variety of wellness and fitness classes, as well.

Balance Space also will hold frequent business networking events for members and prospective members to attend.

Next month’s event, scheduled from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Jan. 17, will provide attendees with the opportunity to learn more about the space and its purpose. Refreshments and child care will be provided during the event, which is sponsored by Optimum Ed.
