It wasn’t pretty, gut-tough wins usually aren’t, but Eastern View wasn’t going for style points. A victory will do, and it was earned 52-44 over Monacan at Monacan High on February 25 in Virginia girls high school basketball action.
The start wasn’t the problem for Monacan, who began with a 12-9 edge over Eastern View through the end of the first quarter.
Eastern View fought to a 21-17 intermission margin at Monacan’s expense.
Eastern View jumped in front of Monacan 34-30 going into the fourth quarter.
Conditioning showed as Eastern View outscored Monacan 18-14 in the final period.
