Henrico County Public Schools has planned several more pop-up school supply drives in the coming days and weeks to assist students whose families may not be able to afford proper supplies.

Many students will need supplies during predominantly virtual learning for the first nine weeks and as students gradually return to school in person. Aside from standard supplies, some families also need assistance with supplies that might normally be found in a classroom, such as whiteboards and pencil sharpeners.

To participate, you can drop off supplies at a “pop-up” drive Wednesday at Allen Family Dental on Laburnum Avenue from 1:30 p.m. 3 p.m., or at ongoing drives on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 9 a.m. to noon at New Bridge Learning Center on Nine Mile Road.

To prioritize safety, the Wednesday event will use a drive-thru format. All drives will require social distancing and mask usage. The drives are sponsored by HCPS’ Department of Family and Community Engagement.

For details about any of the events, contact Van-Neisha Johnson at 328-8110 or vvjohnson@henrico.k12.va.us.
