Table of Contents

The Mobilize Recovery Bus Tour will visit  The McShin Foundation at 2300 Dumbarton Road in Henrico Sept. 16 from 5 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. to celebrate National Recovery Month.

Mobilize Recovery is an initiative of the Recovery Advocacy Project and the Voices Project. Its mission is to expand policy to support recovery, create connections to supportive services and engage affected people in meaningful community action. The initiative convenes advocates with lived experience to build capacity for organized civic engagement with new leadership across the country.

The month-long tour is traveling from the West Coast to the East Coast—and back—from Sept. 5 to Oct. 6.

The McShin stop is the tour’s second Virginia event and will feature a training from Tom Jackson with VA Recovery Advocacy Project. Then, the bus will enter the McShin parking lot and speakers including McShin President John Shinholser, McShin CEO Honesty Liller, Henrico Sheriff Alisa Gregory, Henrico Commonwealth’s Attorney Shannon Taylor, and Garrett Hade of Mobilize Recovery, among others, will address attendees.
