Governor Ralph Northam recently announced additional appointments to his administration: Advisory Board on Art Therapy – Gretchen Graves of Henrico, art therapist at Richmond Hospital Education Program; Central Virginia Transportation Authority – Carlos M. Brown of Henrico, senior vice president, general counsel and chief compliance officer at Dominion Energy and member of the Commonwealth Transportation Board; Virginia African American Advisory Board – Dr. Ingrid Granberry, chief of school leadership at Henrico County Public Schools, and Eduardo L. Lopez, Esq., assistant commonwealth’s attorney of Henrico County; and Board of Directors of the Assistive Technology Loan Fund Authority: Douglas Bierly, commercial banker at Truist (formerly SunTrust Bank), and Marques Jones, president of ComForCare Home Care of Northwest Richmond.

A Henrico County artist was one of 40 from Virginia selected to receive a $5,000 grant from the Virginia Artist Relief Fellowship Program, which was funded by the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts. The program is designed to assist visual artists who have been negatively impacted by COVID-19. Sandy Williams IV of Glen Allen was among about a dozen local artists to earn a grant. The museum received more than 350 applications for the program. Recipients were selected by a jury made up of three staff members at VMFA. The artists were honored during a ceremony at the museum.

James Madison University will welcome the Class of 2024 to campus this month.
