Gov. Glenn Youngkin recently announced additional key administration and board appointments: Board of Dentistry – J. Michael Martinez de Andino of Henrico, senior counsel (retired) at Hunton Andrews Kurth LLP; State Emergency Medical Services Advisory Board – Beth Matish of Henrico, CEO of Johnston Willis Hospital; Board for Asbestos, Lead and Home Inspectors – Tripp Costen of Henrico, president of Costen Floors; and Board for Professional Soil Scientists, Wetland Professionals and Geologists – Justin T. Brown of Glen Allen, environmental scientist at U.S. Army Corps of Engineers.


Cameron Golden and Destiny Hafer of Henrico and Austin Purcell of Glen Allen participated in August in James Madison University’s DMAD: Dukes Making a Difference program. DMAD gives students an opportunity to meet other service-minded Dukes, to learn about Harrisonburg's most pressing social issues, and to interact with individuals and organizations making the Harrisonburg community a better place for all residents.


Andrew Baker of Glen Allen has been named to Chorale, a premier choir comprised of undergraduate and graduate Bob Jones University students from a variety of degree programs. Baker is a sophomore majoring in Business Administration at BJU.


Ab Bullock of Henrico, a freshman at McDaniel College in Maryland, will perform in the Theatre Arts Department’s production of “Stop Kiss” Oct. 5-7 in the WMC Alumni Hall at McDaniel College. An acclaimed comedy-drama by playwright Diana Son, "Stop Kiss" is a timely, thought-provoking piece that explores the evolution of relationships and examines the depths of human emotion, compassion, love, and acceptance.


Emily Jordan Arruda of Glen Allen recently graduated with a master of arts degree in Teaching from Furman University in Greenville, S.C.


Michael Jimenez of Henrico is attending Kettering University in Flint, Mich.
