Esete Fithawok of Glen Allen and Demi Goodson and Kristy Bearfield of Henrico were named to the summer 2021 dean’s list at the University of Maryland Global Campus. To be eligible for this honor, students must earn a semester grade point average of 3.5 or higher.

The following students from Henrico County recently graduated from the Georgia Institute of Technology in Atlanta: Mourya Abbareddy, Keroles Hakem, Cameron Koontz, Evan Shank and Xiang Zhou. Each graduate earned a master of science degree.

Andrew Parkhurst and Charleston Dodson of Henrico were presented their class rings Oct. 1 at The Citadel in Charleston, S.C. They are members of the class of 2022.

Gov. Ralph Northam recently announced additional appointments to his administration. Rhodes B. Ritenour of Henrico was appointed to the Longwood University Board of Visitors. Ritenour is vice president of external and regulatory affairs at Bon Secours Health System. Additionally, Cindy Capriles and Laurel S. Marks of Henrico were reappointed to the Virginia Council for the Interstate Compact for Juveniles. Capriles is director of counseling at Safe Harbor and Marks is manager of the juvenile and child welfare section at Virginia Department of Criminal Justice Services.

The following James Madison University students will spend their fall break Oct. 21-23 doing volunteer work: Mary Callis, of Henrico; and Elizabeth Aldinger, Zoe McQuade and Ryan Patel, of Glen Allen. Alternative Fall Break is an opportunity for students to spend their time outside the classroom helping others. Callis will work at Almost Heaven Habitat for Humanity in Franklin, W.V. Aldinger, McQuade and Patel will work at Asheville Greenworks in Asheville, N.C.
