The following local students were named to the summer 2024 dean’s list at the University of Maryland Global Campus: Anthony Berry, Tania Dawson, Kirsten Edwards, Christian Jenkins, Sielalla Lemessa, Brandon Maxey, Nadine Rose and Jace Darling, of Henrico; Ariana Marin, Daniel McAleese and Amie Wanveer, of Glen Allen; and Danniel Aquino, of Sandston. To be eligible for the dean’s list, students must earn a minimum 3.5 grade point average for the term.


The following local students were named to the summer 2024 president’s list at Southern New Hampshire University: Adam Vosburg, Latarsha Taylor, Angelo Melino, Taylor Richardson, Stacie Derricott, Robert Webster, Asia Farrar, Kiprena Viney and Jennifer Limbrick, of Henrico; Hannah Spence, Lydia Tack, Ashwaq Ghaleb, Balaji Kadambi, Leigh Bunn and Gabriela Sampaio Baker, of Glen Allen; Samantha Moore, of Sandston; and Jimmy Smithers, of Highland Springs. To qualify for the president’s list, students must earn a minium grade point average of 3.700 for the term.


The following local students were named to the summer 2024 dean’s list at Southern New Hampshire University: Phyllis Gaines, Carlene Waller-Lee, Richard Hurdle and Jeffrey Owens, of Henrico; and Sheila Rebarber Colon, of Glen Allen. To qualify for the dean’s list, students must earn a grade point average of 3.500-3.699 for the term.


Gov. Glenn Youngkin recently announced additional key administration and board appointments: State Rehabilitation Council for the Blind and Vision Impaired – Heidi Lawyer of Glen Allen, deputy director of Parent Educational Advocacy Training Center; Office of New Americans Advisory Board – Fakhri Yacoub of Henrico, pastor of The Christian Arabic Church.
