Justin Semo of Henrico and Kyle Williams of Glen Allen recently completed the Southside Virginia Community College Power Line Worker Training Program. The 11-week program provides both classroom and hands-on training in safety, climbing techniques, electrical theory, aerial framing, rigging, operating utility service equipment and commercial driver’s license training. Semo is a graduate of Tucker High School. Williams is a graduate of Deep Run High School.


Brooke Crosson of Henrico graduated in the summer 2024 term from University of Maryland Global Campus. Crosson earned a master of science in Cybersecurity Technology. She also was named to the president’s list for the summer term. To qualify for this distinction, students must have graduated with a bachelor’s or master’s degree and a cumulative grade point average of 4.0.


Sai Aruru of Glen Allen and Matthew Bryant and Harry Schuster of Henrico graduated at the conclusion of summer semester at the Georgia Institute of Technology in Atlanta.


Hannah Smith of Henrico is among the scholarship recipients for the 2024-25 academic year at University of Wisconsin-Whitewater. Smith, who is studying Communication, won a Chancellor Scholars scholarship.


Julio Bultron of Henrico recently was initiated into Phi Kappa Phi, a collegiate honor society for all academic disciplines. Bultron is a student at Central Michigan University. Membership is by invitation only and requires nomination and approval by a chapter. Only the top 10 percent of seniors and 7.5 percent of juniors are eligible for membership.


Alison Nickels of Glen Allen played Amy in Bridgewater College’s production of “Gin Mummy” in October. Nickels, an environmental science major, is a member of the Class of 2025.


Gov. Glenn Youngkin recently announced an additional administration appointment: Virginia Foundation for the Humanities and Public Policy – Sarath Nathan of Henrico, CEO and owner of Sarath Solutions LLC.
