The leadership honor society Omicron Delta Kappa recently initiated the following local students: Lauren Bellamy (Randolph-Macon College) and Miriam Moreno-Alcala (Randolph-Macon College), of Glen Allen; Lily Chapman (Randolph-Macon College), Elizabeth Dooley (Virginia Commonwealth University), Trishna Davis (Virginia Commonwealth University), Quianday Worthington (Randolph-Macon College), Mary Barricklow (Randolph-Macon College), Paul Seibert (Virginia Commonwealth University), Devin Barbee (Southern Virginia University), Elisabeth Waldron (Randolph-Macon College) and Aditya Kotha (Virginia Commonwealth University), of Henrico; and Phoebe Johnston (Hillsdale College), of Sandston. Students initiated into the society must be sophomores, juniors, seniors or graduate/professional students in the top 35% of their class. Students must demonstrate leadership experience and embrace ODK ideals.


Elizabeth Carley and Kayla Reeg of Henrico recently graduated from Trine University in Angola, Ind. Carley earned a degree in Sports and Recreation and Reeg earned a Doctor of Physical Therapy degree.


Jeb Swistock and Reagan Swistock of Henrico were named to the spring 2023 dean’s list at Grove City College in Pennsylvania. To be eligible for the dean’s list, students must earn a grade point average of 3.40-3.59 for the semester. Jeb Swistock is a Finance major and Reagan Swistock is a Biblical and Religious Studies major.


Hailey Sell of Glen Allen was inducted May 5 into the national student-athlete honor society Chi Alpha Sigma. Chi Alpha Sigma recognizes student-athletes who have completed five semesters of higher education, have earned a cumulative grade point average of at least 3.4, and who exhibit distinguished character in the community. Sell, a student at Western New England University in Springfield, Mass., is pursuing a BSE in Electrical Engineering.


Bahja Canty and Nicole Downey of Henrico recently graduated from Regis College in Weston, Mass. Canty earned a master of social work degree and Downey earned a doctor of nursing practice—family nurse practitioner degree.


John Muldowney of Glen Allen graduated magna cum laude May 26 from College of the Holy Cross in Worcester, Mass. Muldowney received a bachelor of arts degree.
