Lindsey Moon of Henrico was among 45 University of Alabama students recently honored for research presentations at this year’s Undergraduate Research and Creative Activity Conference. The event, which has grown alongside undergraduate students' interest in research, highlights students' work and helps them polish their communication skills. Moon’s presentation was titled “Systematic Review: Impact of Psychological Pain Interventions on Depression in Older Adults” and was honored under the category of Health/ Human Performance/Nutrition.


Aj Mears of Henrico has enrolled at McDaniel College in Westminster, Md. as a member of the Class of 2028. Mears is graduating from Varina High School and plans to study Business Administration.


The following local students recently graduated from University of the Cumberlands in Williamsburg, Ky.: Harish Nandhaa Morekonda Rajkumar, Mohammad Asifur Rahman, Gowtham Thota, Aditya Gaddamwar, Rani Himaja Boyapati, Naga Tulasi Priya Mallela, Salima Lakhani and Bradley Ellis, of Henrico; Hakeem Sofivan and Bishan Thapa, of Glen Allen; and Parth Khatri, of Sandston.


The following local students recently graduated from the University of Georgia in Athens: Hayden Martin, Latane Reid, Virginia Phillips and William Hutchins, of Henrico; and Andrew Dowell, of Glen Allen.


Gov. Glenn Youngkin recently announced additional key administration and board appointments: Virginia Alcoholic Beverage Control Authority – L. Mark Stepanian of Henrico, former president of Loveland Distributing Company Inc.; Board of Psychology – Madeline Torres, QMHP-A of Henrico, gerontologist/counselor and court advocate at YWCA Richmond.
