Henrico author David Gorman recently released the latest volume in his Waldameer Mystery Files series, “The Hidden Heirloom.” The Waldameer Mystery Files, a book series for ages 8-12, is set in Waldameer, an amusement park his family operates in Erie, Pennsylvania. In addition to writing, Gorman works as a middle school counselor in Chesterfield County. Gorman will discuss his book and sign copies at Book People in the Gleneagles Shopping Center in the West End, on Saturday, March 29 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Click here for details.


Brittany Ozanski of Glen Allen was named to the fall 2024 provost’s list at Ohio University. This recognition honors part-time undergraduate students who earn a semester grade point average of 3.5 or higher. Ozanski is a student in the College of Health Sciences and Professions.


Rachelle Heihn of Henrico recently was initiated into Phi Kappa Phi, a collegiate honor society for all academic disciplines. Heihn is a student at University of North Carolina Wilmington. Membership is by invitation only and requires nomination and approval by a chapter. Only the top 10 percent of seniors and 7.5 percent of juniors are eligible for membership.


Ab Bullock of Henrico recently participated in the 2025 Region II Kennedy Center American College Theatre Festival. KCACTF brings together students and faculty representing colleges and universities from eight states and Washington, D.C., for a week of performances, competition, and professional development workshops with experts in production, directing, choreography, acting, writing, design, stage management, dramaturgy and dramatic criticism. Bullock is a sophomore Theatre Arts major at McDaniel College in Maryland.
