Emaan Mughal of Glen Allen was named to the fall 2021 presidential honor list at New York Institute of Technology. To qualify for this honor, students must earn a semester grade point average of 3.7 or higher.


The following students from Henrico County were named to the fall 2021 president’s list at the College of Charleston in South Carolina: Madeline Landa, Michael Stein, Reed Haneberg and Jenna Stern.


The following local students were named to the fall 2021 dean’s list at the College of Charleston in South Carolina: Jackson Van Horn, of Glen Allen; and Laura Wallace, Emma Nester and Edward Shield, of Henrico.


The following local students were named to the fall 2021 dean’s list at Rochester Institute of Technology in New York: Franklin Pugh, Liz Stublen, Cecilia Lau, Yousuf Karim and Julia Weatherholtz, of Henrico; and Hongfei Zhu, of Glen Allen. To qualify for this honor, students must earn a semester grade point average of 3.400 or higher.


The following students from Henrico County were named to the fall 2021 dean’s list at the University of the South in Sewanee, Tenn.: Molly Wheeler, Sheppard McVey, Caroline Moorman, Virginia Norfleet, Henry Valentine, Jessie Atkinson and Elizabeth Read. To be eligible for this honor, students must earn a semester grade point average of 3.625 or higher.


Sandhaya Subedi of Glen Allen recently graduated with a bachelor's degree in Baccalaureate Nursing from Ohio University’s College of Health Sciences and Professions.


Claire Rankin of Henrico was named to the fall 2021 dean’s list at Widener University in Chester, Pa. To qualify for this honor, students must earn a semester grade point average of 3.50 or higher. Rankin is pursuing a degree in Nursing.


The following local students recently were initiated into the national leadership honor society Omicron Delta Kappa at Virginia Commonwealth University: Julia Pasette, Hannah Virginia Haine, Kalkidan Teklie, Kailah Trainum and Wilson Whistler-Brown, of Henrico; and Aiza Chaudhry and Bailey Wilson, of Glen Allen. Santia Fields of Glen Allen also was initiated into ODK. Fields is a student at Bridgewater College. Students initiated into the society must be sophomores, juniors, seniors or graduate/professional students in the top 35% of their class. Students must demonstrate leadership experience and embrace ODK ideals.
