of Henrico graduated May 6 from The Citadel in Charleston, S.C. Dodson earned a bachelor of arts degree in Intelligence and Security Studies.


Zachary Spaeth of Henrico recently was initiated into the all-discipline collegiate honor society Phi Kappa Phi. Spaeth is a student at Old Dominion University. Membership is by invitation only and requires nomination and approval by a chapter. Only the top 10 percent of seniors and 7.5 percent of juniors are eligible for membership.


Jeb Swistock of Henrico graduated May 20 with a BS in Finance from Grove City College in Pennsylvania.


Caleb Vernon of Henrico was named to the spring 2023 dean’s list at Fairmont State University in West Virginia. To qualify for the dean’s list, students must earn a semester grade point average of 3.4 or higher.


The following local students were named to the spring 2023 dean’s list at Shenandoah University in Winchester, Va.: Cassidy Holmes, Dori Mouris, Shane Coriaty, William Grigg, Chelsea Goode and Evan Walker, of Henrico; and Nicholas Sims, Madeline Berkle, Tyler Dossat, Jackson Smith, Sydnee Flores and Peter Marshall, of Glen Allen. To be eligible for the dean’s list, students must earn a semester grade point average of 3.50 or higher.


Fred Clark of Glen Allen was named to the spring 2023 dean’s list at DePauw University in Greencastle, Ind. To qualify for the dean’s list, students must earn a semester grade point average of 3.5 or higher.


Gov. Glenn Youngkin recently announced additional appointments to his Administration. The Honorable Siobhan Dunnavant of Henrico was named to the Legislative Advisory Council to the Southern Regional Education Board. Dunnavant is the senator for Virginia’s 12th District. Additionally, The Honorable Betsy D. Beamer of Henrico was named to the Board of Visitors of Radford University. Beamer is director of planning and organization at McGuireWoods Consulting.
