Samuel Joyner of Henrico was named to the spring 2020 dean’s list at the University of Vermont. To be named to the dean’s list, students must earn a semester grade point average of 3.0 or higher. Joyner, a member of the class of 2022, is a student in the College of Education and Social Services.
William Bennett Rider and Ann Curran Merithew of Henrico were named to the spring 2020 honor roll list at the University of Mississippi.
Karen Barker-Atkinson of Henrico graduated May 10 with a master of human resource from Saint Francis University in Loretto, Pa.
Ryan Jones of Glen Allen was recently awarded the Christian L. Carreras Scholarship at the University of North Georgia. This award honors students who have excelled in the
Corps of Cadets.
Abigail Porfilio of Henrico was named to the spring 2020 dean’s list at DePauw University in Greencastle, Ind. The dean’s list recognizes students who earn a semester grade point average of 3.5 or higher.
Gede Mastriyana of Henrico was named to the spring 2020 dean’s list at Berea College in Berea, Ky. To qualify for the dean’s list, students must earn a semester grade point average of 3.4 or higher.
Jeff Cheng of Glen Allen and Charlie Vozenilek of Henrico were named to the spring 2020 dean’s list at the University of Utah. To qualify for the dean’s list, students must earn a semester grade point average of 3.5 or higher.
The following local residents graduated May 1 from the Georgia Institute of Technology: Suganthy Anand, of Glen Allen; and Rian Baxter, Uday Patil, Paige Rutherford and Trevor Davidson, of Henrico.
Nathan Raike of Glen Allen graduated May 17 with a BA in history from the University of Vermont.
Mrunal Kute, who recently participated in the Virginia State Science and Engineering Fair and placed third in her category of Animal Sciences, went on to participate in the Virginia Junior Academy of Sciences Fair. She placed first in the category of Zoology at the fair and will go on to compete for further awards. She won in her category for "Observing Different Concentrations of Ginkgo Biloba on Danio rerio Memory Development.”
Rachel Durrette of Henrico was named to the spring 2020 dean’s list at Bob Jones University in Greenville, S.C. To qualify for the dean’s list, students must earn a grade point average of 3.00 to 3.74 for the semester.
Josie Lee and Cole Alder of Henrico were named to the spring 2020 dean’s list at Northeastern University in Boston, Mass. To be eligible for the dean’s list, students must earn a semester grade point average of 3.5 or higher. Lee is majoring in chemical engineering. Alder is majoring in sociology.
