Clara Giorgis, daughter of Daniel and Ryan Giorgis of Glen Allen, recently graduated summa cum laude from Dickinson College in Carlisle, Pa. Giorgis earned a bachelor of arts in Russian and International Studies. Other recognitions include dean’s list, Phi Beta Kappa, departmental honors in international studies, the Marianna Bogojavlensky Prize in Russian, and the Ganoe Prize in International Studies. She is a graduate of Maggie L. Walker Governor's School.


Alexander Edward Tarr of Sandston was named to the spring 2021 dean’s list at Iowa State University. To be eligible for the dean’s list, students must earn a semester grade point average of 3.50 or higher. Tarr is a senior pursuing an Architecture-Professional degree.


Catherine Greenwell Nunley of Henrico graduated with a major in computer science and mathematics and a minor in dance May 29 from Bowdoin College in Brunswick, Maine.


Allison Lovell of Henrico was named to the spring 2021 dean’s list at University of the Cumberlands in Williamsburg, Ky. To qualify for the dean’s list, students must earn a semester grade point average of 3.50 or higher.


Lauren Hecht of Henrico graduated cum laude with a bachelor of arts in Political Science May 23 from Colorado College.


Taylor Rene Beasley of Henrico graduated cum laude with a bachelor of arts in Early Childhood Education April 30 from North Greenville University.


Brock Smith of Glen Allen and Alexander McQuilkin of Henrico graduated in May from the Georgia Institute of Technology in Atlanta. Both students earned bachelor of science degrees in Computer Science with highest honors.


Laurencia Hughlisa Walters of Henrico recently graduated with a bachelor of science in Radiologic Technology from Midwestern State University in Wichita Falls, Texas.

Miles Bailey of Henrico was named to the spring 2021 dean’s list at Angelo State University in Texas. To qualify for the dean’s list, students must earn a semester grade point average of 3.25 or higher. Bailey is majoring in Psychology.


Lauren Capuzzi and Elise Salken of Henrico were named to the spring 2021 dean’s list at the University of Vermont. To qualify for the dean’s list, students must earn a semester grade point average of 3.0 or higher and rank in the top 20 percent of their class in their respective college or school.


Elise Salken and Kathryn Stanfield of Henrico recently graduated with bachelor of science degrees from the University of Vermont.


The following local students graduated May 1 from Bridgewater College: Samuel A. Beckman (BA in Business Administration) and Logan H. Edwards (cum laude, BS in Applied Physics), of Glen Allen; and Genevieve K. Young (BS in Biology) and Jordan Dent (MS in Athletic Training), of Henrico.


Dawn Karns of Henrico and Sandhaya Subedi of Glen Allen were named to the spring 2021 dean’s list at Ohio University. To qualify for the dean’s list, students must earn a semester grade point average of 3.5 or higher.


Steven Laplante of Glen Allen recently graduated with a master of Sports Administration from Ohio University.


Abigail Morin of Glen Allen was named to the spring 2021 dean’s list at Saint Mary’s College in Notre Dame, Ind. To qualify for the dean’s list, students must earn a semester grade point average of 3.6 or higher.


Sophia George of Henrico was named to the spring 2021 dean’s high honors list at Connecticut College. Addison Slade of Glen Allen was named to the dean’s honor list. Both students are members of the Class of 2024.
