Alyssa McGinnis of Henrico was named to the spring 2023 dean’s list at Miami University in Oxford, Ohio. To be named to the dean’s list, students must be ranked in the top 20 percent of undergraduate students within their division. McGinnis is pursuing a BA in Psychology.


Rachel Becker and Luke Smith of Glen Allen were named to the spring 2023 dean’s list at Union University in Jackson, Tenn. To qualify for the dean’s list, students must earn a 3.5 grade point average for the semester.


Gavin Jones of Henrico was named to the spring 2023 dean’s list at Westminster College in New Wilmington, Pa. To be eligible for the dean’s list, students must earn a semester grade point average of 3.6 or higher. Jones, a graduate of Douglas S. Freeman High School, is majoring in Accounting and Business Administration.

To be eligible for the dean’s list, students must earn a semester grade point average of 3.5 or higher.


Kevin Connelly of Henrico was named to the spring 2023 dean’s list at McDaniel College in Westminster, Md. Connelly earned High Honors, which are awarded to students who earn a grade point average of 3.70-3.89 for the semester.


Brianna Sue King of Henrico recently graduated with an associate’s degree from Community College of Vermont.


Clare Murphy and Connor Phipps of Henrico were named to the spring 2023 dean’s list at the University of Wisconsin-Madison.


Mary Biastock, Amanda Fodor and Kundai Manyara of Henrico graduated May 21 from Hollins University in Roanoke, Va.


Lucas Bauer of Glen Allen has been awarded funding for summer research at Bridgewater College in Virginia. Under the mentorship of a faculty member, Bauer will explore “Effects of water immersion on skeletal muscle activation, fatigue and whole-body gas exchange.” Funding was provided by The Research Experience @ Bridgewater (TREB), a donor-funded initiative providing support for teams of Bridgewater faculty and undergraduate students to spend the summer in collaborative research and creative, scholarly work in any discipline. The award also enables students to travel to professional state and national conferences in their discipline to present their research. Bauer is a sophomore majoring in Health and Exercise Science.
