Milestones - July 6, 2021

The following local students at James Madison University recently were inducted into Phi Beta Kappa Society: Emma Gentry, Teresa Yaniga and Margaret Rooney, of Glen Allen; and Charlottle Thornton, Corinne Martin, Sumner Levenson, Kathryn Simkin, Devin Esleck, Corey Coldren and Brittany Bell, of Henrico.

Lucas Hopper of Glen Allen recently was initiated into the all-discipline collegiate honor society Phi Kappa Phi. He is a student at James Madison University.

Isabella Ronson of Henrico was named to the spring 2021 dean’s list at the University of New Hampshire. Ronson, a Business Administration-Marketing major, earned High Honors for having a grade point average of 3.65-3.84 for the semester.

Rhys Christian Kalama of Glen Allen was named to the spring 2021 dean’s list at Worcester Polytechnic Institute in Maine. WPI determines the dean’s list by the amount of work completed at the A level in courses and projects. Kalama is majoring in Civil Engineering.

Nicholas Hartman of Glen Allen was named to the spring 2021 dean’s list at Tallahassee Community College in Florida.

Hannah Polaski of Henrico recently graduated with a bachelor of arts degree in Music from Muhlenberg College in Allentown, Pa.

The following local students recently graduated from Baylor University in Waco, Texas: William Arthur Reisenfeld, of Glen Allen; and Ethan Christian Hurt and Addison Gabrielle Prewett, of Henrico.

Mia Cate Gibson of Henrico was named to the spring 2021 dean’s list at Baylor University. To be eligible for the dean’s list, students must earn a semester grade point average of 3.70 or higher.

Lauren Sumrell of Henrico graduated in May from Austin Peay State University in Clarksville, Tenn.

The following Henrico County students graduated May 22 from University of the South in Sewanee, Tenn.: Whitney Eleanor Dyke, John Sharpe Gillenwater Jr., Alexander Joseph DiNardo, Mary Wall Ackerly and Elizabeth Campbell Spilman.

The following local students were named to the spring 2021 dean’s list at Bucknell University in Lewisburg, Pa.: Collin Murphy, of Glen Allen; and Sophia Goldin and Mason Cametas, of Henrico. To qualify for the dean’s list, students must earn a semester grade point average of 3.5 or higher.

The following local students graduated May 8 from Furman University in Greenville, S.C.: Kristen Janes and Pat Sauer, of Glen Allen; and Hallie Miller (summa cum laude) and Madeline Brousseau, of Henrico.

Claire Madison Pitzer of Henrico graduated magna cum laude in Political Science May 21 from Trinity College in Hartford, Conn.

Olivia Carey of Henrico graduated in May from Emerson College in Boston, Mass. Carey earned a bachelor of arts degree in Writing, Lit & Pub: Publishing.

Bailey Kane of Henrico was named to the spring 2021 dean’s list at University of the Sciences in Philadelphia, Pa. To qualify for the dean’s list, students must earn a semester grade point average of 3.4 or higher. Kane is a doctor of pharmacy student.

Tyler Tran of Glen Allen and Taryn Linger of Henrico graduated in May from Coastal Carolina University in Conway, S.C.
