Gov. Glenn Youngkin recently made additional appointments to his administration: Board of Visitors at Christopher Newport University – Kelli Meadows of Henrico, founding partner, Meadows Urquhart Acree and Cook LLP; Board of Visitors at University of Virginia and Affiliated Schools – Doug Wetmore of Glen Allen, senior vice president, Centauri Health Solutions; and Board of Visitors at Virginia Commonwealth University – The Honorable Peter Farrell of Henrico, managing partner, Tuckahoe Holdings, and former member of Virginia House of Delegates.


The following local students recently graduated from University of Maryland Global Campus: Larry Thurman, Taylor Marrion, Anthony Leon Balthrop, Christopher Jones and Cory Dennis Garnett, of Henrico; Cristina Lindsey Reynolds, of Glen Allen; and Hailee Costantini, of Sandston.


The following local students were named to the spring 2022 president’s list at the College of Charleston in South Carolina: Austin King, Michael Stein, Jenna Stern, Reed Haneberg and Madeline Landa, of Henrico; and Jackson Van Horn and Olivia Herndon, of Glen Allen. To qualify for the president’s list, students must earn a semester grade point average of 3.800 or higher.


Madelyn Akins of Henrico and Sarah Clark of Glen Allen were named to the spring 2022 dean’s list at the College of Charleston in South Carolina. To qualify for the dean’s list, students must earn a semester grade point average of 3.600 or higher.


Libey Evnan and Shobha Pai of Glen Allen and Amina Beasley of Henrico were named to the spring 2022 dean’s list at Muhlenberg College in Allentown, Pa. To be eligible for the dean’s list, students must earn a semester grade point average of 3.50 or higher.


Eric Jorrand of Glen Allen was named to the spring 2022 dean’s list at American International College in Springfield, Mass. To be eligible for the dean’s list, students must earn a semester grade point average of 3.3 or higher.


Andrew Smetana of Henrico was named to the spring 2022 dean’s list at Bryant University in Smithfield, R.I. To qualify for the dean’s list, students must earn a semester grade point average of 3.4 or higher.


The following local students recently graduated from Shenandoah University in Winchester, Va.: Eunice Han, Victoria White, Michaela Brayboy, Destiny Parker and Jonathan Speer, of Henrico; and Marc Mawyer, Najeeba Nessar and Chelsey Hall, of Glen Allen.


Noah Adams and Evan Walker of Henrico were named to the spring 2022 athletic director’s list at Shenandoah University in Winchester, Va. To qualify for this honor, student-athletes must earn a semester grade point average of 3.0 or higher.
