The following local students graduated with honors in December from James Madison University in Virginia: Jordan Barnes (magna cum laude), Thomas Moore (summa cum laude), Emma Morrison (cum laude) and Isabella Riley (magna cum laude), of Henrico; and Laura Deeb (cum laude) and Marko Stjepanovic (cum laude), of Glen Allen.


The following local students graduated in December from James Madison University in Virginia: Christian Andrews, Emily Deskin, Hailey Fink, Timothy Ford, Sydney Fuller, Colleen Gray, Nolan Greiner, Lindsey Lubin, Rebecca Lucas, Benjamin Miller, Hanh Nguyen, John Rutkowski, Gillian Saunders and Henry Woodley, of Henrico; Sean Bonner, Carter Daniels, Natalie Doust, Jessica Fuller, Caroline Janoschka, Carson Jernigan, Gryphin Kennedy, Makayla Oliveira, Christina Strahan and Alyssa Tran, of Glen Allen; and Dustin Beggs, Tyliyah Moore-Bennett and Charlotte Wilder, of Sandston.


Morgan Boyd of Henrico was named to the fall 2024 dean’s list at Presbyterian College in South Carolina. To qualify for the dean’s list, students must earn a 3.5 to 3.9 grade point average for the semester.


The following local students were named to the fall 2024 dean’s list at Furman University in South Carolina: Kendall Betz, Jackson Michalik, Hollis Reynolds and Mary Helms, of Henrico; and Kenley Sapp and Macy Yoder, of Glen Allen. To be eligible for the dean’s list, students must earn a semester grade point average of 3.4 or higher.


The following local students were named to the fall 2024 chancellor’s honor roll at the University of Mississippi: Abigail Campbell and Harper Hope, of Henrico; and Elizabeth Gordon, Emma Perkins and Olivia Simpson, of Glen Allen. To qualify for the chancellor’s honor roll, students must earn a 3.75 to 4.00 grade point average for the semester.


The following students from Henrico County were named to the fall 2024 dean’s honor roll at the University of Mississippi: Angelina Ellen, Mackenzie Fellows, John Hall, Rebecca Loupassi, Gabrielle Mitchell and Campbell Smith. To qualify for the dean’s honor roll, students must earn a 3.50 to 3.74 grade point average for the semester.


Heidi Albrecht of Henrico and Sydney Marcel of Glen Allen were named to the fall 2024 dean’s list at the University of Rhode Island. To be eligible for the dean’s list, students must earn a semester quality point average of 3.30 or higher.


Gov. Glenn Youngkin recently announced an additional appointment to his administration: Board of Visitors of the Virginia School for the Deaf and Blind – John Pleasants of Sandston, community advocate.
