Gov. Glenn Youngkin recently announced additional appointments to key state positions: Virginia Commission on Higher Education Board Appointments – The Honorable Lisa M. Hicks-Thomas of Henrico, deputy general counsel at Dominion Energy; Child Support Guidelines Review Panel – H. Van Smith of Henrico, attorney and counselor at law at Smith Strong, PLC; Virginia Foundation for Healthy Youth, Board of Trustees – Riley Shaia of Henrico, group exercise instructor at Tuckahoe Family YMCA; Virginia Lottery Board – Sherry L. Williams of Henrico, chief risk officer at Atlantic Union Bank; Board for Professional Soil Scientists, Wetland Professionals, and Geologists – Steven Yob of Glen Allen, professional engineer and deputy county manager of Henrico County; Virginia Board for Asbestos, Lead, and Home Inspectors – Robin Wilder of Henrico, environmental services division director at Henrico County Department of Public Works; and Veterans and Defense Affairs Military Advisory Council – Jon Ganues of Henrico, manager of men's programs at Tragedy Assistance Program for Survivors.


Himanshu Sharma of Henrico recently graduated with a master of science in Business Analytics from Trine University in Angola, Ind.


Jonathan Allarassem of Henrico was named to the fall 2023 dean’s list with high distinction at Grove City College in Pennsylvania. To qualify for the dean’s list with high distinction, students must earn a grade point average of 3.85-4.0 for the semester. Allarassem is majoring in Computer Science.


Caroline Burke, McCarver Stokes and Jackson Tysinger of Henrico were named to the fall 2023 dean’s list at Wofford College in Spartanburg, S.C.


Gabriele Cotrim of Henrico was named to the fall 2023 dean’s list at Lasell University in Newton, Mass. To be eligible for the dean’s list, students must earn a semester grade point average of 3.5 or higher.


Michelle Hevron of Henrico recently graduated with a master of arts in Library and Information Science from the University of Iowa.


Caroline Johnson of Henrico was named to the fall 2023 dean’s list at Missouri State University. To qualify for the dean’s list, students must earn a semester grade point average of 3.50 or higher.


The following local students were named to the fall 2023 dean’s list at Bucknell University in Lewisburg, Pa.: Leah Carlson and Collin Murphy, of Glen Allen; and Sophia Goldin, of Henrico. To be eligible for the dean’s list, students must earn a semester grade point average of 3.5 or higher.
