The following local students were named to the fall 2021 president’s list at Shenandoah University in Winchester, Va.: Madeline Berkle, of Glen Allen; and Evan Walker and Dori Mouris, of Henrico. To be eligible for the president’s list, students must earn a semester grade point average of 3.90 or higher.


Saree Porter of Henrico was named to the fall 2021 president’s list at Coastal Carolina University in Conway, S.C. Porter is majoring in Anthropology and Geography.


Martha Schultz of Henrico was named to the fall 2021 dean’s list at University of Saint Mary in Leavenworth, Kan. To be eligible for the dean’s list, students must earn a semester grade point average of 3.5 or higher.


Hannah Smith of Henrico recently earned a Chancellor Scholars scholarship at the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater. Smith is studying Elementary Education.


McKenzie Reams of Henrico was named to the fall 2021 dean’s list at Eastern Mennonite University in Harrisonburg, Va. To qualify for the dean’s list, students must earn a semester grade point average of 3.75 or higher.


Gavin Jones of Henrico was named to the fall 2021 dean’s list at Westminster College in New Wilmington, Pa. To be eligible for the dean’s list, students must earn a semester grade point average of 3.6 or higher. Jones is majoring in Business Administration and Finance.


Carlos Granadillo of Glen Allen was named to the fall 2021 dean’s list at Southern New Hampshire University. To qualify for the dean’s list, students must earn a grade point average of 3.500-3.699 for the semester.


The following local students were named to the fall 2021 president’s list at Southern New Hampshire University: Jennifer Hoke, Zachary Pitt, Marquis Busby, Caitlan Faulkner, Rebecca Lipson, Daerica Sawyer, Steve Harrison, Markiya Cheatham, Kimberly Allen, Brandon Hamilton, Shurine Perry, Moshea Black, Danielle DeJarnette, David Hahn and Katie Talley, of Henrico; and Erin McClure, of Glen Allen. To qualify for the president’s list, students must earn a semester grade point average of 3.700 or higher.


Gov. Ralph Northam reappointed two local citizens to the Board of Directors of the Virginia Birth-Related Neurological Injury Compensation Program: Vanessa S. Rakestraw, PhD of Henrico, retiree of the Virginia Department for Aging and Rehabilitative Services; and Joseph H. Stepp of Glen Allen, financial director of Assistive Technology Loan Fund Authority.
