The following local students recently graduated with master degrees from the University of the Cumberlands in Williamsburg, Ky.: Nikhilesh Kumar Thunga, Shourya Gandham, Naga Tulasi Priya Mallela and Chaitanya Gadde, of Henrico; and Srikanth Nallani, of Glen Allen.


Laurel Capuzzi and Maggie Sheerin of Henrico were named to the fall 2021 dean’s list at the University of Vermont. To qualify for the dean’s list, students must earn a semester grade point average of 3.0 or higher. Capuzzi is majoring in Exercise Science and Sheerin is majoring in Political Science.


Fred Clark of Glen Allen was named to the fall 2021 dean’s list at DePauw University in Greencastle, Ind. To be eligible for the dean’s list, students must earn a semester grade point average of 3.5 or higher.


Gov. Ralph Northam recently announced new appointments to his administration: Advisory Board on Massage Therapy – Lisa Speller of Glen Allen, vice president of community relations at CDG LLC; Criminal Justice Services Board – Ebony Clark of Henrico, executive director of Virginia Anti-Violence Project; and Virginia LGBTQ+ Advisory Board – N. McKeller Crosby of Henrico, president of Side by Side and president of the Richmond LGBTQ Chamber. In addition, Gov. Northam reappointed Alan Dow of Henrico to the Virginia Health Workforce Development Authority. Dow is a physician and professor at Virginia Commonwealth University School of Medicine.


Kathryn Carithers of Henrico was named to the fall 2021 president’s list at Bob Jones University in Greenville, S.C. To qualify for the president’s list, students must earn a semester grade point average of 3.75 or higher. Carithers is a sophomore majoring in Keyboard Performance.


Amanda Martin of Henrico was named to the fall 2021 chancellor’s list at Troy University in Alabama. To be eligible for the chancellor’s list, students must earn a 4.0 grade point average for the semester.


Caroline Palmer of Glen Allen was named to the fall 2021 dean’s list at Harding University in Searcy, Ark. To qualify for the dean’s list, students must earn a semester grade point average of 3.65 or higher. Palmer is a senior studying Management.


The following local students were named to the fall 2021 dean’s list at Shenandoah University in Winchester, Va.: Madeline Berkle, of Glen Allen; and Evan Walker, Eunice Han, Meredith Kennedy, Cassidy Holmes, Chelsea Goode and Dori Mouris, of Henrico. To be eligible for the dean’s list, students must earn a semester grade point average of 3.5 or higher.
