of Henrico was named to the fall 2022 dean’s list with distinction at Grove City College in Pennsylvania. To earn dean’s list with distinction status, students must earn a grade point average of 3.60-3.84 for the semester. Swistock is a Biblical and Religious Studies major.


Franklin Pugh and Anais Trott of Henrico were named to the fall 2022 dean’s list at Rochester Institute of Technology in New York. To qualify for the dean’s list, students must earn a semester grade point average of 3.400 or higher. Pugh is in the game design and development program. Trott is in the digital humanities and social sciences program.


Natalie Doust of Glen Allen was named to the fall 2022 dean’s list at James Madison University in Harrisonburg, Va. To be eligible for the dean’s list, students must earn a grade point average of 3.5-3.899 for the semester. Doust is majoring in Nursing.


James Madison University is one of 13 schools from around the country, and the only one from Virginia, selected for Phase 2 of the 2023 Collegiate Wind Competition sponsored by the U.S. Department of Energy. The team of 20 JMU students competing includes Jack Williams and Austin Zicafoose of Henrico. Both students are majoring in Engineering. During Phase 2, teams will finalize their design reports for their wind turbine prototypes. In addition, they will build and test their turbines, finalize their site design for their hypothetical offshore wind farm, and continue to build connections within the wind industry and their communities. The selected teams will be given additional funding to complete their projects and to attend the final event May 15-19 at University of Colorado Boulder.

Reed Haneberg of Henrico and Jackson Van Horn of Glen Allen were named to the fall 2022 dean’s list at the College of Charleston.

The following local residents recently earned an Award of Excellence at Western Governors University: Nereida Glasscock and Sarah Page, of Glen Allen; and Neshawn Lambert, Sharon Driscoll, Taylar Campbell, Joseph Hurst, Mackenzie Huber, Regina Senn, Owen Walker, Andrea Wilson and Sylvia Jackson, of Henrico. The award is given to students who perform at a superior level in their coursework.


Parker Sale of Henrico was named to the fall 2022 dean’s list at Bridgewater College in Virginia. To be eligible for the dean’s list, students must earn a semester grade point average of 3.4 or higher. Sale is a Music major.


Quinn Pierce and Kylie Semo of Henrico and Camila Ariona of Glen Allen were named to the fall 2022 dean’s list at Emerson College in Boston, Mass. To qualify for the dean’s list, students must earn a semester grade point average of 3.7 or higher. Pierce and Semo are majoring in Media Arts Production. Ariona is majoring in Political Communication.


Nick Erickson and Liliana Manyara of Henrico were named to the fall 2022 dean’s list at Middle Tennessee State University. To be eligible for the dean’s list, students must earn a semester grade point average of 3.5 or higher. Erickson is majoring in Audio Production. Manyara is majoring in Recording Industry.


The following local students were named to the fall 2022 dean’s list at Coastal Carolina University in Conway, S.C.: Bailey Hall, Jackson Hiatt, Alfred Houtz and Alexander Hudak, of Henrico; and Linmore Jones and Madeline Schuetze, of Glen Allen. To qualify for the dean’s list, students must earn a semester grade point average of 3.5 or higher.


The following local students were named to the fall 2022 president’s list at Coastal Carolina University: Samantha Hanczaryk, Nicholas Laumer and Saree Porter, of Henrico; and Emma Terry, of Glen Allen. Students who make the president’s list have earned a 4.0 grade point average for the semester.
