Luke Smith of Glen Allen was named to the fall 2024 president’s list at Union University in Jackson, Tenn. To be eligible for the president’s list, students must earn a grade point average of 4.0 for the semester.


Rachel Becker of Glen Allen was named to the fall 2024 dean’s list at Union University in Jackson, Tenn. To qualify for the dean’s list, students must earn a grade point average of 3.5 for the semester.


Marshall Ryan and William Hill of Henrico and Mia Salvi of Glen Allen were named to the fall 2024 dean’s list at Belmont University in Nashville, Tenn. To qualify for the dean’s list, students must earn a grade point average of 3.5 for the semester.


The Shenandoah University Marching Band, alongside members of the Shenandoah Conservatory Studio Big Band and the SU cheerleading squad, will perform in the 2025 London New Year’s Day Parade on Jan. 1. Local students taking part include Emane Brinchfield (color guard) of Henrico and Jackson Smith (trombone) of Glen Allen. It will be the first international performance for the marching band, which debuted with 73 members in 2022 and has grown to include over 150 students this year.

Campbell of Henrico, case manager at Moms in Motion; Advisory Board on Art Therapy – Ashley Wiley, MS, RN, WHNP-BC, PMHNP-BC of Glen Allen, clinical assistant professor at Randolph Macon College; Office of New Americans Advisory Board – Martha Cohen of Glen Allen, consultant; Virginia Interagency Coordinating Council – Florije Shala of Glen Allen, school counselor at Henrico County Public Schools.
