Caroline De Arras

Caroline De Arras of Henrico graduated Dec. 13 from Arizona State University. De Arras, a first-generation college student, earned a bachelor of arts degree in English through ASU Online.


Caleb Vernon of Henrico was named to the fall 2021 dean’s list at Fairmont State University in West Virginia. To qualify for the dean’s list, students must earn a minimum 3.4 grade point average for the semester.


The leadership honor society Omicron Delta Kappa recently initiated the following local students: Peter Darling (Auburn University), Eli Mckown-Dawson (Florida State University), Oona Elovaara (University of Richmond) and Peng Yu (University of Richmond), of Henrico; and Kaitlin Gharib (University of South Carolina—Columbia), Margaret Beckman (Virginia Military Institute), Morgan Boyer (Virginia Military Institute) and Brian Rollison (Virginia Military Institute), of Glen Allen. Students initiated into the society must be sophomores, juniors, seniors or graduate/professional students in the top 35% of their class. Students must demonstrate leadership experience and embrace ODK ideals.


Phi Kappa Phi, a collegiate honor society for all academic disciplines, recently initiated the following Henrico County students: Katelynn Bortz at Clemson University and Mary Johnson at Virginia Commonwealth University.


Gov. Ralph Northam recently reappointed the following Henrico County residents to his administration: Toni M. Randall, attorney, County of Henrico – Advisory Committee on Juvenile Justice and Prevention; and Katherine E. Waddell – Common Interest Community Board.
