SaNaa Saunders of Henrico recently earned the Elmira College Key Award for academic achievement and community leadership. The EC Key Award is an $88,000 scholarship (distributed over four years at $22,000 per year) given to high school students in their junior year. The scholarship recognizes high scholastic achievement, leadership, citizenship, and participation in extracurricular activities. Saunders was one of 831 students to receive the EC Key Award this year.


Grace Isabelle MacDougall of Glen Allen graduated summa cum laude May 19 from Dickinson College in Carlisle, Pa. MacDougall earned a BA in Women's, Gender & Sexuality Studies and Japanese. She also earned several recognitions including dean’s list, Phi Beta Kappa, departmental honors in East Asian studies, and the Women's, Gender and Sexuality Studies Prize. MacDougall is a graduate of Trinity Episcopal School and the daughter of Michael and Charlette MacDougall of Glen Allen.


Hailey Sell of Glen Allen was named to the spring 2024 president’s list at Western New England University in Springfield, Mass. To be eligible for the president’s list, students must earn a semester grade point average of 3.80 or higher. Sell is majoring in Electrical Engineering.


Josie Arthur and Quinn Pierce of Henrico graduated May 12 from Emerson College in Boston, Mass. Arthur earned a BFA in Theatre and Performance. Pierce earned a BFA in Media Arts Production.


Katherine Stuckey and Izabella Bender of Henrico and Olivia Schmincke of Glen Allen were named to the spring 2024 dean’s list at the University of Delaware. To be eligible for the dean’s list, students must earn a semester grade point average of 3.5 or higher.


Matthew Gasperini of Glen Allen was named to the spring 2024 dean’s list at the University of Dallas in Irving, Texas. To be eligible for the dean’s list, students must earn a semester grade point average of 3.5 or higher. Gasperini is a sophomore Theology major.


Allison Gregory of Glen Allen was named to the spring 2024 dean’s list at Adelphi University in Garden City, N.Y. To qualify for the dean’s list, students must earn a semester grade point average of 3.5 or higher.


Alvernia University baseball player Trevor Harris of Glen Allen earned Team Academic Excellence honors for the 2023-24 academic year, as announced by the American Baseball Coaches Association (ABCA) and presented by Sports Attack. To qualify for this honor, programs must post a team grade point average of 3.00 or higher for the year.
