Officer Arthur Jones has been named Richmond International Airport's 'Living the Values' Employee of the Quarter. Jones is known as the face and voice of the airport as the morning outbound terminal traffic launches, and he was praised by both airport personnel and passengers for his positive attitude, enthusiasm and can-do spirit despite his early-morning schedule. "From controlling crowds, to providing directions, to escorting travelers to their gate when they need assistance, he is a constant beacon of light and energy,” a nominator wrote of Jones.

Gov. Ralph Northam recently reappointed David Jaffe, MD of Henrico to the Advisory Council on Pediatric Autoimmune Neuropsychiatric Disorders Associated with Streptococcal Infections and Pediatric Acute-onset Neuropsychiatric Syndrome (PANDAS/PANS). Jaffe is a pediatric neurologist at Virginia Commonwealth University Health System.

Caroline Davis and Rachel Potula of Henrico were named to the spring 2021 dean’s list at Hofstra University in New York. To be eligible for the dean’s list, students must earn a semester grade point average of 3.5 or higher.

The following local students were named to the spring 2021 dean’s list at the University of the South in Tennessee: Feihan Yu, of Glen Allen; and Molly Wheeler, Jessie Atkinson, Liza Read, Sheppard McVey, Lambsy Moorman, Virginia Norfleet and Luke Valentine, of Henrico. To qualify for the dean’s list, students must earn a semester grade point average of 3.625 or higher.

Claire Nicholson of Henrico graduated in May from Miami University in Oxford, Ohio. She earned a bachelor of arts degree in Strategic Communication, Entrepreneurship.

Asha Iyer and Samantha Greene of Henrico were named to the spring 2021 dean’s list at Tufts University in Massachusetts. To be eligible for the dean’s list, students must earn a semester grade point average of 3.4 or higher.

Grace MacDougall and Ella Meyer of Glen Allen were named to the spring 2021 dean’s list at Dickinson College in Carlisle, Pa. To qualify for the dean’s list, students must earn a semester grade point average of 3.7 or higher. MacDougall, a sophomore majoring in Women’s, Gender & Sexuality Studies, is a graduate of Trinity Episcopal School. Meyer, also a sophomore, is a graduate of Glen Allen High School.

Amanda Martin of Henrico was named to the summer 2021 chancellor’s list at Troy University in Alabama. To qualify for the chancellor’s list, students must earn a semester grade point average of 4.0.

Madeline Novak of Henrico was named to the spring 2021 dean’s list at the University of Minnesota Twin Cities. To qualify for the dean’s list, students must earn a grade point average of 3.66 for the semester. Novak is a senior in the College of Sci and Engineering.
