Zyquis Triplett of Sandston has been selected to travel to Colombia as part of Shenandoah University's Global Citizenship Project (GCP). Triplett was chosen for GCP based on a written essay, a desire to experience other cultures, and a lack of international travel experience. Participants learn of their destination only after they've been selected for the program. The trip will take place over spring break, Mar. 6-16. Triplett is pursuing a bachelor of science in Psychology.


Tavarus Short, a senior at Highland Springs High School, has been accepted into the incoming Class of 2024 at Culver-Stockton College in Canton, Mo. Short was awarded the Wildcat Scholarship, an $8,000 per year scholarship for four years. The scholarship is awarded based upon academic credentials and is renewable provided the student remains in good academic standing.


Emily Tuck and Emily Vaughan of Henrico were named to the fall 2019 president’s list at Shenandoah University in Virginia. To qualify for the president’s list, students must earn a semester grade point average of 3.9 or higher. Tuck is a Dance and Psychology major. Vaughan is a Music Education major.


The following Henrico County residents recently graduated from Western Governors University: Megan Brennan McCartney, William Dickinson, Veeresh Shivanand Kolkur, John Gaskins and Tonya Taylor.


Aaron Fowlkes of Glen Allen was named to the fall 2019 dean’s list at New York Institute of Technology. To qualify for the dean’s list, students must earn a semester grade point average of 3.5 or higher. Fowlkes is majoring in Interdisciplinary Studies.


Sharon Alexander of Henrico graduated Dec. 14 from The College of St. Scholastica in Minnesota. Alexander earned a master of science in Health Informatics.


Elizabeth Kastelein of Henrico was named to the fall 2019 dean’s list at Wheaton College in Illinois. To be eligible for the dean’s list, students must earn a semester grade point average of 3.5 or higher.


Brooke Allen Biastock, a graduate of Deep Run High School, was named to the fall 2019 dean’s list at Hollins University in Virginia. To qualify for the dean’s list, students must earn a semester grade point average of 3.5 or higher. Biastock, a junior creative writing major, is the daughter of Greg and Leigh Biastock of Henrico.


Mikaela Danielle Craft of Henrico was named to the fall 2019 dean’s list at Greensboro College in North Carolina. To qualify for the dean’s list, students must earn a semester grade point average of 3.5 or higher.


The following local students were named to the fall 2019 dean’s list at The University of Alabama: Christin Anne Elia, Claudia Emerson Long, Alden M. Moreton and Meredith Virginia Taylor, of Glen Allen; and William J. Hockman, Bridget C. Boggs, Chandler J. Combs, Caroline Elizabeth Curtis, Barclay A. Jumet, Alec Mitchell Pagano, Taylor C. Pawlowski, Cecelia Taylor Phillips, Helen Garnett Russell and Margaret Kelly Smith, of Henrico. To qualify for the dean’s list, students must earn a semester grade point average of 3.5 or higher.


The following students were named to the fall 2019 president’s list at The University of Alabama: Mackenzie B. O’Barr, of Glen Allen; and Grayson Edward Rogers, Stewart August Berling, Finley Cabell Griffin, Benjamin Thomas Tavenner and Thi Xuan Ngan T. Trang, of Henrico. To qualify for the president’s list, students must earn a semester grade point average of 4.0.
