Mark Montgomery

St. Matthew’s United Methodist Church in Goochland County recently named Mark Montgomery its new pastor. Montgomery most recently served as an associate pastor at Ebenezer United Methodist Church in Stafford and previously at Grace United Methodist Church in Corpus Christi, Texas. He also has served as campus minister at George Mason's Fairfax campus. He was raised in the United Methodist Church in San Antonio, Texas and earned his undergraduate degree from McMurry University in Abilene, Texas. He then graduated from The Divinity School at Duke University in Durham, North Carolina, one of 13 seminaries founded and supported by the United Methodist Church. He and his wife, Melissa, have a four-year-old son, Liam. St. Matthew's United Methodist Church draws extensively from Henrico County and is located at 1706 St. Matthews Lane in Goochland. Derrick Reeves of Sandston graduated summa cum laude May 4 from Bethel University in Tennessee. Reeves earned a bachelor of science degree.


Henry Roberts and Aaron Stein of Henrico were named to the spring 2019 dean’s list at Washington University in Missouri. To qualify for the dean’s list, students must earn a semester grade point average of 3.6 or above.


In recognition of his outstanding performance during the 2019 spring varsity baseball season at Randolph-Macon Academy, Devlin Montgomery of Henrico received the Coaches' Award. Montgomery is the son of Bill and Sharon Montgomery and was a sophomore at Randolph-Macon Academy during the 2018-19 school year.


Robert Austin, Sabrina Daglish and Emilio Layton of Henrico were named to the spring 2019 dean’s list at Loyola University in Maryland. To be eligible for the dean’s list, students must earn a minimum quality point average of 3.500 for the term.


Luke Todd of Glen Allen graduated May 2 from the University of Utah in Salt Lake City. Todd earned a master of business administration degree.
