Four yoga students from Hot Yoga Richmond participated in USA Yoga’s Central Southeast Regional Yoga Asana Competition, and all four placed in the Top 10. The students from RVA are April Penland (1st), Erika Donahue (4th), Kathleen Doyle (5th), and Jordan Dorn (7th). Each participant demonstrated a three-minute routine that consisted of six postures. They were scored based on level of difficulty and execution of the postures. Penland, Doyle and Dorn are veterans of the yoga competition, and this was Donahue’s first year. All four students will likely be invited to the National Yoga Championship later this year in Lynchburg (running results are tabulated as regionals take place around the country). The four yogis practice almost daily at Hot Yoga Richmond, which has a location in Henrico at 3621 Cox Road. Penland and Doyle also are teachers and leaders in the RVA yoga community.
