Cam Timok of Glen Allen was one of more than 180 Central College students who presented academic research at the Fall 2018 Undergraduate Research Symposium. Timok's presentation was titled “The Effects of Visual vs. Auditory Stimuli on Reaction Time.”


The following students recently were initiated into Phi Kappa Phi, a collegiate honor society for all academic disciplines: Anna Miller, of Glen Allen; and John Gyourko and Alexander Krayets, of Henrico. Only the top 10 percent of seniors and 7.5 percent of juniors are eligible for membership, which is by invitation only. Miller was initiated at Jacksonville University. Gyourko and Krayets were initiated at Virginia Commonwealth University.


Calan Pillow of Glen Allen recently received the Outstanding Service award from Jefferson College of Health Sciences in Roanoke, from which he graduated with a bachelor of science degree.


Lucas Nigro of Henrico graduated Dec. 14 from Coastal Carolina University in Conway, S.C. Nigro, a marine science major, earned a bachelor of science degree.


Ajay Kumar Gella of Henrico graduated Dec. 7 from Campbellsville University in Campbellsville, Ky. Gella earned a master of science degree in Information Technology Management.
