Emily Disler, of Henrico, recently graduated from Bates College in Lewiston, Maine. She earned a degree in biological chemistry. Disler was a member of Sigma Xi, a honor society that recognizes excellence in scientific research. Disler also was inducted into the Bates Scholar-Athlete Society, an organization which honors graduating seniors who have achieved a grade point average of 3.5 or have received special nomination from the faculty for outstanding academic achievement in their junior and senior years, and who have participated in a varsity sport for a minimum of three years. Disler, a 2014 graduate of Collegiate School, is the daughter of Dr. David G. Disler and Dr. Robin S. Disler, of Henrico.


The following local students earned president’s list status for the spring 2018 semester at Washington and Lee University: Ryan Campbell Lesher and Natalie Sloane Smith, of Glen Allen; and Sara Riley Dotterer, Winston Alexander Boyd Peete, Mary Pace Lewis, Katherine Carter Reid, Corinne Grace Joireman, Thomas Irvin Willingham IV, Daniel Benjamin Lynch, John FitzRandolph Hodgson Jr., Ryan Elizabeth Hodgson and Catherine Chapman Simpson, of Henrico.


William Bice and Harrison Clark, of Henrico, were named to the dean’s list for the spring 2018 semester at St. Olaf College in Northfield, Minn. To be eligible for the dean’s list, students must earn a minimum grade point average of 3.75 for the semester. Bice is majoring in Russian Area Studies and Performance. Clark is majoring in Music and French.


Anna Nicholson, of Henrico, graduated May 19 from Miami University in Oxford, Ohio. Nicholson earned a bachelor of arts degree in Strategic Communication.


Mariele E. Berkowitz, of Henrico, was named to the president’s list for the spring 2018 semester at LIM College in New York, N.Y. To qualify for the president’s list, students must earn a grade point average of 3.8 to 4.0 for the semester.


Brian Delfs, of Henrico, was named to the dean’s list for the spring 2018 semester at Seton Hall University in South Orange, N.J.


Gariel Wilkerson, of Glen Allen, graduated May 11 from John Tyler Community College. She earned an associate of science degree with a major in General Studies as well as a certificate in General Education. Wilkerson was named to the dean’s list for the spring 2018 semester.
